Privacy Policy Kendal Driving School

This Privacy Policy was last updated on 13th January 2020.

Changes may be made to this policy in the future. Please revisit this page to keep up to date.

By using this website, you agree that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy set out below. Although the language is simple, the intentions behind this policy are to provide complete transparency to the user on how information is collected and used on this website.

When you fill out our contact form, or any enquiry form, on this website, we collect your email address and any other contact information that you provide.

Our website is secure. You can see this as it has https: and a padlock in the browser address bar. This means the connection from your computer to the website is secure, and all information passed over the network is encrypted with SHA-2, 256-bit cryptography. The information you provide to us when filling out a form is transferred from your computer to our website server and then to our local email via SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). All information is protected by SSL.

Information that you provide is not stored on the website server, or in any database.

The contact information that you provide, i.e. your name, email address, and telephone number, is used to help us get back to you, via the email or telephone number that you provide, to answer your enquiry.

When we enter into an agreement, your details are kept for as long as that agreement is valid. We need these details to keep in contact with you about your Driving lessons and Driving Test. If you make an enquiry that does not lead to an agreement, we keep your details for 30 days, unless otherwise agreed by both parties, after which time any correspondence about your enquiry is deleted and any paperwork is securely destroyed.

The website services are aimed at adults over the age of 16.

You can request to see any data that we hold at any time. Any request will be responded to within 30 days.

You have the right to ask for any personal data that we hold on you to be deleted. Unless there is a reason why that data is needed - for example, to allow us to fulfil a service that we are currently providing to you, or for legal reasons, your data will be erased on request.

All of our computer hard drives are encrypted, fire-walled and password protected. We adopt appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of any information that we may hold about the service we provide for you.

The hosting servers that we use are UK based, and GDPR compliant. The network security is provided by Juniper and Cisco industry-standard firewalls. The premises are secured by 3m perimeter fencing, 25+ CCTV cameras, 24x7 personnel and electronic access control systems.

We regard your personal information as exactly that, personal, and we do not share, rent or sell your details to any third party.

We use some third party software and applications (see below) which are essential for the workings of this website and administration of our business.

Any external sites that we have linked to, from within this website, will have their own cookie and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or their functionality.

Payments & Invoicing

We do not store personal financial information. Payments that you make to us are processed securely online, via Paypal. Papal is a 3rd party processor and has its own Privacy Policy*.

All records of invoices are kept for accounting and tax purposes for as long as legally required, after which they are securely destroyed.
